Our History
Our History

Co-operatives have a long history of serving members in Western Canada. In the early 20th century, people worked together to create retail co-operatives in many towns in the four western Canadian provinces (Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta and British Columbia).
Parkland Co-op first was established in Carragana in August 1940 and then moved to Porcupine Plain, where we are still operating today. We also amalgamated with Hudson Bay Co-op in February of 2014 so now we are a strong retail in 2 great communities. Parkland Co-op celebrated 75 years of service in 2015.
We pride ourselves on our customer service and invite you to visit our Hudson Bay and Porcupine Plain Co-op locations. When you visit, we strive to make you to feel like “You’re at home here.”
